Joyce DiDonato – Diva Divo

Project Overview

This promotional flyer was designed to showcase the “Diva Divo” album by the internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato under the Virgin Classics label. The album, which explores the interplay between male and female operatic roles, required a visual presentation that reflected the duality and artistic depth of the recording.

Creative Approach

The design strategy was centered around elegance, contrast, and storytelling, ensuring the flyer effectively communicated the essence of the album while maintaining brand consistency for Virgin Classics.

Key design elements included:

Duality Concept: The visual layout emphasized the transformation between masculine and feminine roles, mirroring the album’s theme.

Typography & Layout: A refined type treatment was chosen to balance classic sophistication with a modern aesthetic, ensuring readability and impact.

Color Palette & Imagery: The flyer utilized a rich yet subtle color scheme, enhancing the dramatic presence of DiDonato while maintaining the refined look expected in classical music marketing.

Engaging Composition: A balanced layout that draws the eye toward key promotional text, ensuring that the focus remains on both the artist and the album’s concept.

Execution & Impact

The flyer was distributed through print and digital platforms, targeting classical music enthusiasts, opera lovers, and industry professionals. The compelling design helped reinforce Joyce DiDonato’s artistic brilliance and Virgin Classics’ commitment to high-quality classical music productions.

This project demonstrates my ability to create visually engaging promotional materials that align with the unique artistic identity of musicians and record labels. By blending strong conceptual storytelling with refined design elements, the flyer effectively captured the essence of “Diva Divo”, making it a compelling marketing tool for the album’s release.
